About the school

Our school offers an exceptional learning environment where every student can thrive. At PS 347, our relatively small class sizes set us apart from other public schools, allowing each student to receive personalized attention and truly shine. We are a diverse and inclusive community of learners. From Pre-K through 5th grade, our students include CODAs (Children of Deaf Adults), hearing students, Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing children, those connected to the Deaf community, and allies. In middle school, many students are CODAs, while others are eager to learn and explore American Sign Language (ASL). We warmly welcome everyone. Our mission is to provide a joyful learning environment that balances academic rigor with a strong focus on ASL. Our teachers deliver a District 2 aligned curriculum designed to help all students reach their personal best while building curiosity, empathy, and social awareness through higher-level thinking and real-world learning. We support engagement through programs like middle school basketball before school and a robust after-school program. Our classrooms often include two teachers, ensuring strong support for all learners. We also offer accelerated math, business, Earth Science, and Biology. Middle school students participate in an 8th-grade trip to Washington, D.C., where they explore Gallaudet University and American history. Our close-knit community fosters strong family partnerships and supports each child in becoming an independent, responsible, lifelong learner prepared for success. All signs point to success!
