About the school

Isaac Newton Middle School for Math & Science is part of a select cohort of schools offering School Based Virtual Learning. Beginning SY2526, our students will have remote learning opportunities while students unable to participate remotely can report to the building for the same experience. We foster a rigorous academic environment preparing students for high school success and cultivate a community where students broaden their intellectual horizons and develop into well-informed, engaged citizens. Our curriculum emphasizes core academic and social skills with technology integration. Students leverage technology to enhance learning and develop responsible digital citizenship. We offer diverse electives including chorus, theatre, visual arts, PE, health, technology, foreign language, and tutorials. Eighth graders tackle rigorous college preparatory curriculum with Regents-level coursework in Algebra I, Living Environment, and Global History, preparing them for high school's academic demands. Located in vibrant East Harlem near the East River, our school features modern classrooms with air conditioning, iPads, Apple TVs, and SmartBoards. Jupiter Grades serves as our Learning Management System. As a uniform school, we promote community and belonging. City Year enriches student life through after-school programs and family resources. We partner with Mount Sinai Hospital for a fully-equipped medical clinic with doctor and nurse services. We celebrate diversity and foster a respectful environment where all students and community members feel valued and heard. Learn more at joininms.com
