About the school

TMA serves students in grades 6-12 with a mission to prepare them for success in college, careers, and postsecondary training opportunities. As a school community of approximately 400 students, we are able to provide personalized support and build meaningful relationships that help every student thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Our educational approach emphasizes culturally relevant teaching practices and social-emotional learning, ensuring that students see themselves reflected in their learning experiences while developing the skills needed to succeed in school, work, and life. Through more than twenty community partnerships, students have access to enriching experiences in areas such as technology, design, athletics, and youth development. Our high school students participate in college courses through partnerships with local colleges and universities during their 10th, 11th and 12th grade years, allowing them to earn college credits while still in high school. We also offer mentoring programs that support the growth, leadership, and development of both young women and young men. TMA's athletic offerings include boys' and girls' basketball, track and field, and badminton. For students in grades 6-8, we provide comprehensive wrap-around services through our extended learning time partner, Global Kids Inc. After-school programming runs Monday through Friday from 2:40 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at no cost to families and includes academic support, enrichment activities, leadership development, and social-emotional learning opportunities that foster confidence, resilience, and community engagement.
