About the school
MS 101 offers a rigorous and well-rounded education through four core subject curricula: Amplify Demos for Math, HMH Into Literature for English Language Arts, Passport to Social Studies, and Amplify for Science. In addition to strong academics, students benefit from enrichment courses in Physical Education, Foreign Language, Visual Arts, Music, and Computer Science, fostering both intellectual and creative growth. We are proud of our partnerships with Broadway Junior, Computer Science for All, College Access for All, and our community-based organization, Kips Bay. These collaborations enhance the student experience by providing access to additional resources, opportunities, and support. Eighth grade students have the opportunity to take Regents-level courses in English, Biology, Algebra, and Second Language Proficiency, offering a strong foundation for high school readiness. Beyond the classroom, MS 101 encourages student engagement through a wide range of extracurricular activities. These include several co-ed sports teamssuch as baseball, E-sports, flag football, soccer, volleyball, and trackas well as clubs and leadership opportunities like the debate team, coding club, drama club, dance team, student government, and history club. Our dedicated teachers and staff are at the heart of these offerings, ensuring that students receive not only academic excellence but also meaningful opportunities for personal growth and community involvement.
