About the school
Our mission at the Academy for Debate and Leadership is to cultivate independent learners and thinkers who deal critically and creatively with the real world through debate in all content areas. We promote leadership through performative based assessments, service learning, the arts, and athletics. At ADL, all students take advanced regents classes, and we offer SHSAT preparation courses. We have a Spanish dual language program and a Spanish language debate program. During our Expanded Learning Time that runs until 4:00pm, all students at ADL are exposed to a variety of enrichment activities, including debate, sports, dance, music, newspaper, chess, green team, and more. From 8am to 12pm, Saturday Academy supports the academic and enrichment objectives of the week and ensures that students are on track for standards mastery.
