About the school
The P.S. 89 school community believes in creating a 21st century student-centered classroom where students can thrive. Our teachers build a strong foundation that will allow our students to participate in a risk-free environment and apply their real-world experiences to achieve their greatest academic potential. We strive to build upon our students strengths and enable them to develop their self-esteem, curiosity and a love of learning. Our PTA works with our parent coordinator to provide monthly events and workshops for parents. Our school community works hard to celebrate student work with performances and concerts, art shows, Honor Roll breakfasts, special field trips, and a variety of PBIS rewards. In addition, parents and students can view upcoming assignments, as well as monitor their child's progress via Jupiter Grades. Parents and students are guided in the high school application process by our guidance counselors and advisors.
