About the school

Here at Cornerstone Academy Middle School, we desire to cultivate a school that fosters a positive environment through open communication, collaboration, empathy, respect and celebration. We believe that students learn best in a community where they feel known, supported, and empowered. Our approach combines strong academics with a focus on student voice, social responsibility, and real-world learning. Students are encouraged to speak up, share ideas, and take active roles in their learning and community. Small group advisory structures ensure every student is known well by at least one adult in the building. Families are active participants in the school community, with consistent communication and opportunities for engagement. We celebrate students with special incentive trips to Broadway shows, American Dream Mall, Camelback Resort, and so much more. As a small, nurturing school, we know every child and family by name. Our principal greets students at the door each and every day. Our robust after-school program, in partnership with NYEdge, offers flag football, soccer, and basketball. We are also home to an elite dance team that competes at regional competitions. Our active PTA hosts multiple family events throughout the year, keeping our community connected and engaged.
