About the school
We are delighted that you are entrusting your child to our care. At The Van Nest Academy, we strive to be a safe, nurturing, and inviting community for you and your family. We hope to create a lasting partnership with you until your child is ready to advance to high school and beyond. At the core of our philosophy is the pursuit of academic excellence and the belief that every child can and must succeed. Our goal is to create a joyful, lifelong learner who is confident, caring, and knowledgeable. We provide an outstanding academic program, an inclusive environment, and a unique experience collaborating with local medical and environmental education facilities. Students will work with real-world scientists, both in the classroom and in their workplaces, to become creative problem-solvers and responsible citizens. In addition to our rigorous curriculum in Literacy, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies, students participate in an interactive music program, the ART of observation, and regular physical education and health instruction. We also fully integrate technology into the classroom as a tool for all students to access information, solve problems, and share knowledge. To solidify our sense of community, we invite you to take an active role as our learning partners and to share your interests and talents with us.
