About the school
Global Innovators Academy (MS 428), located in Sunset Park, is a dual-language middle school in District 15. As a trailblazing school grounded in project-based learning, we are committed to cultivating the next generation of compassionate global citizens who are bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural. Our mission is to harness the power of language, rigorous academics, and cross-cultural collaboration to prepare students for an ever-evolving world. We strive to foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that values each individual’s strengths, identity, culture, and heritage, while building a harmonious and diverse community. At MS 428, we prioritize high academic achievement through an equitable, culturally responsive curriculum enriched with integrated project-based learning. Students engage in meaningful opportunities to collaborate with diverse populations through workshops and community-centered projects that promote real-world impact. A hallmark of our school model is our innovative approach to language learning. We provide interdisciplinary instruction by embedding community service and project-based experiences into the core curriculum, empowering students to apply their language skills in authentic and meaningful ways. Through thoughtful scheduling and a high-quality, inclusive curriculum, we ensure that all learners-—regardless of background have equitable access to opportunities that prepare them for college, career, and beyond. Opening in September 2024, Global Innovators Academy welcomes students who are inspired by an immersive dual-language experience and eager to grow as leaders. Our students actively participate in community-building initiatives that cultivate leadership, global awareness, and the skills needed to thrive in the world of tomorrow.
