About the school
Lenox Academy M.S. 961 is an academically accelerated program for middle school students. We provide a high-quality education in a small, loving and supportive environment. Lenox Academy's rigorous academic program, coupled with a highly skilled and experienced staff, has proven successful, as nearly all of our 8th great students confidently sit for three Regents exams and the Spanish Proficiency Exam. At Lenox, our motto is "Find your passion ~ Find your voice." Through our Electives classes, students are able to experience enrichment in areas they are passionate about during the school day. Through our robust student government, and our advisory program, which allows students to give regular input on school decisions, students develop their unique voices. Lenox Academy promotes academic excellence and challenges students to meet NYS standards with distinction. Our seniors are administered the English Language Arts and Algebra I Common Core Regents, Biology Regents and Spanish World Language exams. The arts and athletics are also very important to Lenox. We have an after school partner in New York Edge that offers free after school with arts and sports. We partner with Brooklyn Conservatory of Music for our band.Students get Visual Arts and Music classes over their time at Lenox and we have a Step team.We put on a big play each year with Broadway Jr. which all students can be a part of.We have boys basketball, girls basketball, co-ed soccer and boys and girls track teams. We have a large cheerleading teams which competes successfully in tournaments around the city, and we host our own cheer festival. We want our students to be able to try as many experiences as possible so they can find their passion in life and grow their voices over their time at Lenox.
