About the school

At School of the Future Brooklyn, students are challenged, supported, and inspired to become the leaders, innovators, and problem-solvers of tomorrow. As a college-preparatory middle school, we provide a rigorous academic program in a nurturing environment where every scholar is known, valued, and encouraged to reach their fullest potential. Our STEAM-focused curriculum integrates science, technology, engineering, the arts, and mathematics through hands-on, real-world learning experiences that spark curiosity and creativity. Students explore concepts through innovative programs such as our immersive ZSpace laboratories, where biology and other sciences come to life through interactive 3D technology. At SOFBK, learning extends beyond the classroom. Scholars participate in college visits, educational day trips, career exploration experiences, and community-based projects that broaden their perspectives and help them envision their future success. Our culturally responsive curriculum reflects the diverse identities, histories, and experiences of our students, fostering a strong sense of belonging and pride. We emphasize literacy and communication across all subject areas, teaching students to think critically, articulate their ideas with confidence, use academic vocabulary, and support their thinking with evidence. Through high expectations, personalized support, and meaningful learning experiences, we prepare students to excel in high school, college, careers, and as engaged citizens in an ever-changing world.
