About the school
The Academy of Innovative Science is scheduled to open at IS 206 in September of 2026. Through project-based learning students develop content knowledge and real-world skills in engaging ways. Curiosity drives learning and critical thinking is built through a collaborative, student-centered approach. Digital literacy is cultivated through AI projects that teach students to ask questions and shape a future where technology is used fairly and wisely. Students can also apply their newfound skills in one of our many clubs including Debate Team, Student Volunteers, Gardening Crew, Journalism Club, or at our annual school play. Our school is home to students from all around the world and we believe multilingualism is a strength to be nurtured. We are proud to offer both Spanish and Russian as world languages. Additionally, our 8th grade students participate in rigorous curricula including Algebra and New Visions Biology. IS 206 endorses and nourishes a community where students, teachers, staff, parents, administrators, and community leaders are dedicated to academic excellence, mutual respect, and equality for all.
