About the school
At our school, we are committed to educating the whole child through a comprehensive middle school experience that balances academic excellence, artistic expression, social-emotional development, and extracurricular engagement. Students benefit from a nurturing and supportive environment in which a dedicated team of administrators, counselors, and deans remains with each cohort from sixth through eighth grade, providing continuity, guidance, and personalized support throughout their middle school journey. Our rigorous academic program is complemented by nationally recognized opportunities in the arts: a well-developed Fine Arts curriculum includes Band, Chorus, and Visual Arts, and through partnerships with organizations such as the Queens Arts Festival, our Visual Arts students have earned top honors at the Queens Borough Arts Festival, with award-winning work displayed at the Queens Museum. We take pride in fostering student voice, leadership, and critical thinking; through our partnership with MSQI, students participate in one of New York City’s top-ranked middle school debate programs. Our commitment to academic excellence is further reflected by participation in initiatives such as Urban Advantage, the NY Road Runners Club, and the NYC Public Schools College Access for All program, which helps students develop college awareness and readiness beginning in seventh grade to support informed decision-making as they transition to high school. Recognizing the importance of social-emotional well-being, families may choose to enroll their children in the South Asian Youth Action (SAYA!) after-school program, which provides additional academic, social, and emotional support, and our faculty and staff also offer an extensive after-school enrichment program.
