About the school

Village Academy is a small middle school in Far Rockaway where every child is known by name. Our school educates the entire child through a holistic approach, supported by two counselors and a full-time social worker. We are a restorative community that builds student leaders through peer mediation, student government, and our Peer Group Connection mentoring programs. We foster a strong home-school connection with an open-door policy for all parents. Our campus features state-of-the-art facilities designed to meet every student’s needs. We boast a full onsite medical and dental clinic, as well as a student laundromat to remove barriers to success. Academically, we offer a rigorous curriculum that prepares students for the city's top high schools. Our scholars can take high school Regents exams in the eighth grade, participate in intensive SHSAT prep courses, and go on college tours across the country. Learning extends far beyond the classroom through exploratory trips and regular collaboration with industry experts. Outside of core classes, students explore their unique passions through an extensive arts and sports program, alongside a plethora of clubs. Our high-tech spaces include a STEAM Room, an Aquaponics lab, a professional Recording Studio, a Yoga studio, and a fitness weight room. Whether coding, making music, practicing mindfulness, or playing competitive sports, there is a place for every child to thrive. At Village Academy, we are always adding more opportunities to help our students unlock their full potential.
