About the school
Being a member of our school community means being part of a vibrant, intellectually curious, and culturally rich environment. In grades 6-8, students engage in the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Programme (MYP), learning to think critically and make real-world connections across subjects. Our instructional approach is built around inquiry, reflection, and student voice, showcased through Socratic Seminars as well as Declamation, a tradition where students perform speeches and poetry. In 8th grade, complete their Service as Action MYP Project and enter the Associate Degree Discovery Programme (ADDP), which introduces them to college-level expectations. Our mantra, "7 years, 1 school, 1 family," reflects our Early College model with students remaining through grade 12 and graduating with an Associate Degree. As a Performing Arts school, we offer courses in theater, dance, music, and visual arts, where students express themselves through performance, choreography, sculpture, painting, and creative design. Our House System (Yale, UTech, Howard, Columbia) builds identity, leadership, and supports our Restorative Justice program. Our Classrooms of the Future initiative includes certification opportunities in Python, JavaScript, Cloud Computing, Data Analytics, and Cybersecurity, as well as internships with S&P 500 companies. Students also have the opportunity for global study abroad trips to Spain, Puerto Rico, Greece, Japan and South Korea. Our middle school students remain with us for high school and college, ready to envision their place in the world.
