About the school

Our bold & unapologetic vision is that EVERY QUMS student will meet and exceed New York State standards in all subjects. We are successfully building a safe and nurturing learning community through the committed partnership of like-minded families, PTA leadership, faculty & staff, and community supporters. QUMS offers extensive academic support through strong classroom instruction, targeted tutoring opportunities, and social-emotional support for all students from our dynamic guidance and social work team. QUMS offers an after-school SHSAT program for qualified students in 6th and 7th grades to prepare to sit for the SHSAT in the fall of their 8th grade year. This program has resulted in our students receiving acceptances into Stuyvesant High School, Brooklyn Technical High School, Queens High School for the Sciences at York College, and The Brooklyn Latin School. Additional early high school opportunities at QUMS include offering Regents courses in Life Sciences: Biology, Algebra 1, and U. S. History and Government based on equity. QUMS also offers a variety of activities such as Student Council, Robotics, Cooking Club, Chess Club, Language Club, Media Club, Photography Club, Soccer Club, and SONYC-- our free after school program. SONYC provides students with a broad range of cross-curricular and extracurricular experiences including sports, dance & arts, and STEM exploration.
