IS 162 is equipped with modern classrooms, science laboratories, makerspaces, and a thriving hydroponics grow lab that allow students to explore, create, investigate, and innovate. Our college and career readiness programming, supported by our counseling department, helps students set goals, plan for the future, and develop the skills needed for long-term success. Our comprehensive Social-Emotional Learning program helps students develop self-awareness, empathy, responsible decision-making, and positive relationships. Through student government, leadership opportunities, community service projects, and schoolwide initiatives, students learn the importance of collaboration, responsibility, and making a positive impact on their school and community.
